RALEIGH, N.C. – Arosa Systems, a Charlotte, N.C.-based provider of high-speed fire detection and control systems for industrial processes around the world, has received the 2024 Governor’s Award for Excellence in North Carolina.
Arosa Systems, owned by Michael and Giulia Viniconis, began by serving the global textile industry and are now offering our solutions to other industries worldwide.
The Governor’s Export Awards recognized seven North Carolina companies for their growing success in expanding exports into international markets today. The companies’ industries range from veterinary products to fluid film bearings and fire detection.
“The businesses honored today produce some of the best of North Carolina’s innovative products,” said N.C. Governor Josh Stein. “In 2024, North Carolina companies exported more than
$42.8 billion in goods and services to 215 countries and territories, fueling job creation and business expansion across our state. Let’s keep growing.”
The Governor’s Office has partnered with the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) for this awards program, now in its eighth year. Through its International Trade Division, the EDPNC supports businesses statewide to navigate trade agreements, language barriers and address other challenges in expanding exports.
The winners of the 2024 Governor’s Export Awards are as follows:
- Governor’s Award for Excellence – Arosa Systems in Mecklenburg County
- Small Business – Blue Fusion Technologies in Cumberland County
- Large Business – TCOM in Pasquotank County
- Rural – Pioneer Motor Bearing Company in Cleveland County
- Global Reach – SynergyLabs in Burke County
- Export Partner – North Carolina Community College System in Wake County
- New to Export – Haand in Alamance County
“In 2024, our International Trade Division supported 542 companies and these seven emerged as leaders in exporting and international sales,” said Michael Hubbard, director of International Trade for the EDPNC. “This award celebration took an even more timely tone as international policy shifts are bringing the trade sector into the global spotlight. We are very proud to have partnered with them to drive their growth and contribute to North Carolina’s economic success.”
